Calling an Urgent Queervention:
Antisemitism, Islamophobia, and us.

Where? Tate Modern - Tate Exchange -
Level 5 Blavatnik Building
When? Friday 17th May 3-6pm
Why? We need each other to speak

Islamophobia, antisemitism and queerphobia are on the rise. At the same time, queer performers are choosing to foreground, celebrate, problematise and of course queer their entho-religious identities. Apparently something's going on. So what do we say, what do we do?

Let us (Queers, Muslims, Jews, all possible combinations and allies) gather around shared food, shared make-up and shared space in a series of intimate dialogues. Urgent Queervention will hold space for you - for each other - for us - to develop conversations and initiatives of queer potential to resist populist racism.

Racism silences. Let's find ways to speak together.

Hosts: Jo Tyabji, Alex Eisenberg, Ray Filar, Raheem Mir, Raz Weiner.

* Urgent Queervention is organised as part of RHUL-Tate Exchange in partnership with ivo theatre, supported by the Humanities & Art Research Institute in RHUL.
