An encounter combining Virtual Reality and live performance. Drone is creative non-fiction that collapses the distance in perspective between the people flying lethal drones missions and the people dying in them.

You are in a control cabin, being taught to use the next generation of drone operation technology. It’s before dawn the other side of the world and you watch a jeep drive through the darkness. It’s been signalling with its headlights, raising suspicions of covert movement. Your sensor operator has already been on shift a few hours: there’s a half eaten pizza and the radio’s on. Then the bottom falls out of your world.

Drone is in development with the National Theatre (UK) and the National Film Board of Canada.
